Thai With Drugs In Private Parts Held.

KUALA LUMPUR: A Thai woman who was hiding about 500g of cocaine-filled capsules in her private parts walked calmly through the customs checkpoint at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) before taking a taxi to a hotel in Sepang.
 Little did she know that police were on to her ruse and had followed her to the hotel where she had already extracted the drugs and left them on her bed. Federal Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) director Comm Datuk Noor Rashid Ibrahim said police raided the hotel at around 5.55pm on Tuesday after monitoring her movements at the airport.
 “We found six capsules containing 495g of cocaine. Investigations revealed the woman had smuggled the drugs from South America to Dubai before landing at KLIA,” he told reporters at Bukit Aman yesterday. He said based on further questioning, the woman admitted that this was not the first time she had smuggled drugs and also planned to bring the capsules back to her home country.
 Meanwhile, Comm Noor Rashid said a Nigerian man was arrested after arriving at KLIA at around 3pm on Monday. “When we checked his luggage, we found four packets containing 1.12kg of syabu hidden in macaroni packets,” he said, adding that the man flew in via a flight from Doha.
 He said police also arrested a local couple after arriving at the Low Cost Carrier Terminal (LCCT) at around 1.10am yesterday. “The couple flew in via a flight from Chennai, India and a check on their luggage revealed two plastic bags containing 8kg of syabu.
 “The two brought in clothes with sequins to trick the scanners at the airport,” he said, adding that both of them were students at a private college here. Comm Noor Rashid said investigations revealed all three cases were connected to a Nigerian drug smuggling syndicate. In another case, police arrested eight members of Gang 36, believed to be involved in the distribution of drugs in the city, during a week-long narcotics operation.
 The operation, led by Kuala Lumpur Narcotics CID director Asst Comm Wan Abdullah Ishak, saw about 1kg of marijuana, 500g of heroin and 25g of methamphetamine being confiscated. Police also seized an air rifle, four samurai swords, six parang, a digital weighing machine and RM3,000 in cash during two raids on Sept 21 and 25. “They are being remanded until Oct 2,” said ACP Wan Abdullah.
