 Hasil dari rakaman video memperlihatkan seorang lelaki yang berseluar pendek masuk ke dalam masjid tersebut dan terus mengambil senaskhah Al-Quran lalu memijak-mijak Al-Quran tersebut.

Andrew Gn pays homage to Cubists at Paris fashion.

Andrew Gn on Sunday paid tribute to his favourite artists and designers including Cubists Georges Braque and Pablo Picasso in an art-inspired collection held fittingly at Paris's Palais des Beaux-Arts. Singapore-born Gn also named Italian architects and designers Gio Ponti and Carlo Mollino as influences on his spring/summer 2014 collection.
 "I took it on myself to transport the energy of their visual language to clothes -- just as one can assemble furniture and art works to create a unique interior world," he said. Sleeveless belted sheath dresses were overlaid with black python lace and trimmed with black ribbon while silk shorts in mint green or black were teamed with tops with Braque-inspired doves and stars applique.


Other elegant looks included tailored white dresses with black trim and an electric blue shift dress with a Cubist-inspired inset.
 For evening, stand-out looks included a colour-blocked silk mousseline gown with yellow bodice, pearl grey skirt and black Mollino-inspired embroidery. Others named as an influence on the collection by Gn included another Cubist, the French painter and sculptor Fernand Leger, and Scottish contemporary artist Peter Doig. Chloe designer Clare Waight-Keller, meanwhile, put the accent on "seductive fluidity" with a collection full of flowing, long-line silhouettes.
 "The shapes were about building volume without going into a cliched world of chiffon," the British designer told AFP backstage, adding that silks were made up of two layers making them "completely airy and billowy, almost parachute-like."


"It was a lot about lightness and transparency and movement" in order "to be sensual and modern but feminine," she added. Elsewhere on Sunday, Kenzo creative directors Carol Lim and Humberto Leon used their show at director Luc Besson's vast Cinema City at Saint-Denis just north of Paris to highlight the issues of over-fishing of oceans.
 Slogans such as "No Fish, No Nothing" and "85% of global fish stocks are depleted or exploited" were daubed on doors leading into the show. "Hailing from California, we have always been impressed by the ocean, its power, its constant change, its ability to cultivate life and our reliance upon it," they said. Their collection aimed to fuse "classic tailoring with beach living", they said, with cotton or laser-cut jackets featuring large open-backed "vents, to allow for a beech breeze."
 Embroidered cropped tops resembled the crests of waves while prints included geometric and graphic aqua motifs. Fish prints were an "observation on over-fishing in already crowded marine territories and are a key print for us to bring awareness to (the) conservation problem we all face," they said in a statement.

Sun shines on 'Cloudy With Chance of Meatballs' sequel.

Animated sequel "Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs 2" shone at the North American box office this weekend, industry estimates showed Sunday.
 The follow-up to the 2009 movie based on the eponymous children's book about a food-making machine that spins out of control and bombards a town with meatballs took an estimated $35 million in its opening weekend. The Sony Pictures Animation film knocked crime thriller "Prisoners" into second place, according to industry tracker Exhibitor Relations.
 The film, starring Hugh Jackman as a desperate parent in search of his child and Jake Gyllenhaal as the detective in charge of the investigation, pulled in $11.3 million in its second weekend, taking its total to $39 million. In third place was Formula One motorsport drama "Rush," Ron Howard's acclaimed account of the famous duel for the 1976 world championship between James Hunt and Niki Lauda, earning $10.3 million in its opening weekend.
 Fourth spot was occupied by "Baggage Claim," a romantic comedy about a lovelorn flight attendant who traverses America looking for Mr Right. The film debuted with $9.3 million. Joseph Gordon-Levitt's raunchy comedy-drama "Don Jon," written and directed by "The Dark Knight Rises" actor, took fifth with $9 million in receipts. The film sees Gordon-Levitt play a porn addict who seeks to change his ways in order to win the woman of his dreams played by Scarlett Johansson.
 Horror sequel "Insidious: Chapter 2" slid to sixth place, taking $6.7 million. The film, starring Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson as a haunted husband and wife, is a follow-up to the successful 2010 horror flick "Insidious." In seventh spot was "The Family," starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert De Niro as members of a mafia clan in witness protection living under the radar in France, earned $3.7 million.
 Comedy-drama "Instructions Not Included," Eugenio Derbez's movie about a Mexican playboy who is suddenly presented with a child from a previous liaison and forced to become a father, came in eighth place, taking in $3.4 million. Adult comedy "We're The Millers," about a bogus family attempting to smuggle drugs into the United States from Mexico, was in ninth place with $2.9 million.
 Meanwhile, "Lee Daniels' The Butler," took in $2.4 million to round out the top 10. The Oscar-tipped drama, about the civil rights era as seen through the eyes of a black White House servant played by Forest Whitaker, has earned $110.3 million since its release.

S. Korea August industrial output at 9-month high

South Korea's industrial output grew at the fastest pace for nine months in August on robust car and mobile phone production, state data showed Monday.
 Production in the mining, manufacturing, gas and electricity industries rose 1.8 percent from a month ago, following a revised 0.3 percent fall in July, according to Statistics Korea. It was the fastest expansion since the 2.1 percent growth posted in November last year.
 Compared to a year ago, the August output rose 3.3 percent -- the highest on-year gain since January. Production of cars as well as televisions and mobile phones -- the country's key exports -- climbed 18.9 percent and 11.1 percent respectively from July.
 Asia's fourth-largest economy has shown signs of a moderate revival, posting its strongest on-quarter growth for two years at 1.1 percent in the April-June period. The central bank expects the economy to grow 2.8 percent this year after expanding 2.0 percent in 2012 -- the slowest in three years.

China Offers Tax Rebates On Solar Power.

Chinese solar panel makers have been going through a tough time amid falling prices and slowing demand 

CHINA has offered tax rebates to manufacturers of solar power products in an attempt to prop up the struggling sector and also cut pollution levels.
 Manufacturers will be refunded 50% of the value added tax from 1 October 2013 to 31 December 2015, the state-owned Xinhua news agency has reported. Chinese firms emerged as key players in the solar power sector in recent years. But weak demand and trade rows have resulted in overcapacity, leaving leading firms with huge debts.
 According to the Xinhua report, the country's top 10 solar panel makers have up to 100bn yuan (RM53m) in debt. Earlier this year, China's Suntech Power Holdings, the world's biggest solar panel maker, defaulted on its debt. That was followed by a default by LDK Solar Company, the world's largest producer of solar wafers.
 'Grim outlook' Over the past years, economies across the world, especially developed nations, have looked to increase the use of renewable energy sources. Chinese firms have been keen to tap into the market and emerged as leading players in the sector. But a sharp decline in prices, coupled with slowing demand, has hurt global solar panel makers and Chinese firms have also borne the brunt.
 The US and European panel makers have blamed Chinese firms for playing a big role in that. They have accused the Chinese companies of flooding the market and of selling the panels below fair price, a practice known as "dumping". There have also been claims that China provides subsidies to its firm, which helps them keep their costs low and as a result sell goods at a cheaper prices, resulting in tariffs from countries such as the US.
 China has denied these allegations. However, these disputes and falling prices have hurt Chinese firms and even fanned fears over the long term future of some of the companies. Prompted by these concerns and the rising pollution levels in the country, China has been trying to boost domestic demand for solar panels. However, the Xinhua report warned that "despite the support policies, China's bloated photovoltaic industry still faces a grim outlook".
 "Even if the domestic market is expanded, China's production overcapacity can not be fully digested and some manufacturers must be eliminated, analysts have pointed out, expecting the industry to see drastic eliminations and accelerated integrations in the coming months."

Saudi Cleric Says DrivingRisks Damaging Women's Ovaries.

Thousands have signed up to a campaign to defy the ban WOMEN who drive risk damaging their ovaries and producing children with clinical problems, according to a conservative Saudi cleric.
 The comment, made by Sheikh Saleh al-Lohaidan, came as activists step up their campaign for women in Saudi Arabia to be allowed to drive. Women are being called upon to defy the ban and drive on 26 October. The campaign, started on Twitter, has attracted more than 11,000 signatures.
 It is the latest in a series of campaigns over the past two decades for women to be allowed to sit behind the wheel. The ban on women drivers, while informal, is enforced by Saudi police through fines and arrests. Only men are permitted to acquire driving licences.
 "If a woman drives a car, not out of pure necessity, that could have negative physiological impacts as functional and physiological medical studies show that it automatically affects the ovaries and pushes the pelvis upwards," Sheikh Lohaidan told the news website Sabq.org.
 "That is why we find those who regularly drive have children with clinical problems of varying degrees." Sheikh Lohaidan is reported to be opposed to reform more generally and granting women more rights in the kingdom. Opponents of giving women the right to drive in Saudi Arabia say it offends the country's traditional code.
 But those behind the campaign for the ban to be lifted point to inconsistencies, such as the need for women to employ a male driver who is not a family member.

Bahrain Unrest : 50 Shia Muslims Sentenced To Up To 15 Years.

A COURT in Bahrain has sentenced 50 Shia Muslims to up to 15 years in prison on charges of forming a clandestine movement, reports say. The 14 February group has been a key influence behind the Shia-led campaign for more rights in Bahrain which began in 2011.
 Bahrain, ruled by a Sunni Muslim royal family, accuses the movement of terrorism. Sixteen defendants were given 15-year sentences, reports say. Four were jailed for 10 years and the remaining 30 for five, according to a judicial source quoted by the AFP news agency. Thirty of those convicted plan to appeal.
 Twenty were tried in absentia for their involvement in the 14 February youth coalition, a network of secretive groups that organise protests online. Prominent among those sentenced was human rights activist Naji Fateel, who was given 15 years, according to the Bahrain Youth Society for Human Rights. 'Torture' The society alleges he was tortured during interrogation.
 This, the group says, included electric shocks, simulated drowning and beatings. Others sentenced include Iraqi cleric Hadi al-Mudaressi and London-based opposition activist Saeed al-Shahabi, AFP reports. Both were tried in absentia. The charges are also said to have comprised trying to overthrow Bahrain's ruling family.
 The head of the rights group, Mohamed al-Maskati, told the BBC that the sentences were "only likely to fuel anti-government unrest". He said more court cases were likely to come up. Bahrain has been beset by unrest since 2011 as the series of pro-democracy movements known as the Arab Spring took hold in the region.
 Two weeks ago, the Bahraini authorities arrested Khalil Marzook, a leader of the main Shia bloc Wefaq, on terrorism charges. Wefaq and other groups responded by suspending their participation in a national dialogue designed to heal political divisions.
 Bahrain is seen by Western powers as strategically important, providing a haven for the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in the Gulf.

MALI: Gun Battles Between 'Rebel' And Soldiers In Kidal.

Tuareg rebels are said to resent the return of Malian soldiers to the northern city and former rebel stronghold of Kidal 

 A GUN battle has erupted between Malian soldiers and suspected separatist rebels in Kidal in the north, sparking fears that the violence could escalate. Gunmen attacked soldiers guarding a bank in the town, who returned fire. Residents and an unnamed official said the gunmen were rebels from a Tuareg group who days ago announced they were pulling out of a peace deal.
 June's ceasefire followed more than a year of fighting that prompted an intervention by French troops. French troops remain stationed in northern Mali and the Malian army has controversially returned to Kidal. The provincial capital had been in the hands of rebels from the National Movement for the Liberation of Azawad (MNLA) for months.


Spate of violence BBCThe regional governor, Adama Kamissoko told the AFP news agency from Kidal that "a lot of shots" were being fired in the city, adding: "Armed men are shooting and the Malian soldiers have retaliated."
 He said he did not know who the gunmen were, but an unnamed source from his office and some residents said it was the MNLA, who the unnamed source explained "never wanted the army around". There was no information about casualties in the clash. Yesterday's violence is the latest in a spate of violent incidents. On Friday, two Malian soldiers were wounded in Kidal when a grenade was thrown at them. On Saturday, at least two people were killed in Timbuktu, also in the north, when suicide bombers blew up a car near a military camp.
 On Sunday, a local civic leader told Associated Press he had heard shots fired at the army camp near Kidal but there were no further details. June's peace deal had permitted elections to take place and the new President, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, was sworn in earlier this month. He has pledged to reunite Mali following the Tuareg uprising, which prompted a takeover of the north by Islamist fighters and threw the country into turmoil until France intervened in its former colony.
 But Tuareg rebels said on Thursday they were pulling out of the peace deal, accusing the Malian government of failing to live up to its promises including prisoner releases.

 Shelawati berkata, mereka sekeluarga pilu apabila mengenangkan nasib dialami bayi berusia kira-kira tiga bulan miliknya, Ku Aira Lidiya Syazana Ku Shahrul yang menghidap penyakit jantung berlubang dan masalah injap. “Masa dia lahir, kami tidak tahu Aira mengalami masalah kerana dia kelihatan normal. Namun, sejak awal kelahirannya lagi, dia memang selalu menangis.
 “Malah, keadaan nafasnya sering turun naik menggusarkan hati kami. Lantas, kami suami isteri membawa Aira ke sebuah klinik pakar kanak-kanak di Lorong Merpati, dekat sini, hinggalah dirinya dikesan mengalami masalah kesihatan,” katanya. Katanya, lebih menimbulkan kebimbangan apabila kini anaknya dimasukkan ke unit rawatan rapi pediatrik (PICU), Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah (HSB) pula selama 10 hari selepas berada dalam wad selama lapan hari berikutan kesihatannya merosot.
 Manakala, suaminya, Ku Shahrul Ku Osman, 31, berkata, mereka berdua turut dikhabarkan sekiranya anaknya perlu menunggu lebih lama untuk menjalani pembedahan, maka keadaan kesihatannya akan menjadi semakin buruk. Menurutnya, mereka sekeluarga amat memerlukan sumbangan untuk menampung kos pembedahan di Pusat Perubatan Gleneagles (GMC), Pulau Pinang bagi membolehkan anak mereka dibedah segera.
 Katanya, dia hanya operator pengeluaran dengan pendapatan RM1,400 sebulan, manakala isterinya tidak bekerja sedangkan anaknya memerlukan bantuan kewangan berjumlah RM45,000 demi memulihkan saluran jantung dan pernafasannya. Sementara itu, penderitaan dialami bayi jantung berlubang terbabit mendapat perhatian Puteri Umno Bahagian Alor Setar yang tampil menyalurkan sedikit bantuan.
 Manakala, Ketua Puteri bahagiannya, Maizatul Miza Mohd Disa berkata, pihaknya juga akan berusaha membantu keluarga terbabit. Justeru, orang ramai diharapkan membantu meringankan beban keluarga Shahrul ini dengan menyalurkan sumbangan ke akaun CIMB milik isterinya (02050111362520) ataupun menghubungi mereka di talian 017-4302812.

Controversy Turns Into Opportunity For Youtube Parody.

KUALA LUMPUR: The controversial incident that took place at Subang Skypark between a security guard and Siti Aisya Adam, 24, the wife of star footballer Nor Shahrul Idlan Talaha (or better known as Mat Yo), has not only sparked angry conversations among Malaysians in the social networks but it has also spawned a number of YouTube parody videos.
 The YouTube parody videos range from those done by popular local comedians, like an excerpt of a scene from the Astro’s game show programme “Super Spontan” to the medley of songs (with parody lyrics) on Hot FM. And then there are various other parody videos by random Malaysians, all depicting the key scenes from the incident.
 The parody videos may be shot in various ways – from the depiction an unauthorised parking of a car to the signature POV scene shot from a smartphone video camera - but all of them carry the key elements of the controversy – or rather the curt, irrational response of Mat Yo’s wife at the airport security guard on duty. The parodies made full use and had fun with the contents of the argument that transpired between the security guard Azman Md Nayan, 49, and Mat Yo’s wife on the Sept 12.
 They are: the innocent caution from the security guard for the car to be moved to the proper parking area; the defiant reply from Mat Yo’s wife – “Saya bukan bodoh!” (I’m not stupid!); the onslaught of snide remarks towards the security guard – “Pakcik ni bodohlah” (You are a stupid old man) and the most damaging,
 “Jantan dayus” (You’re a cowardly man). But despite the barrage of condemnation of all Malaysians in the social networks and the video parodies, Mat Yo, seems unfazed, just as he looked when he was standing outside the car in the recording of the infamous video.
 All of the controversy didn’t seem to have any negative effect on the weekend’s Malaysia Cup game between Johor Darul Takzim FC (JDT) and Kelantan, where he managed to contribute to one of the four goals that sealed the win with a 4-2 score. In a Berita Harian report, weeks after the incident, Mat Yo’s wife made a formal statement of apology. "Dengan rasa rendah diri, saya minta maaf kepada seluruh rakyat Malaysia atas tindakan saya sehingga menimbulkan kemarahan semua pihak (I humbly apologise to all Malaysians for my action that had sparked angry reactions). “Saya percaya, kebenaran kes ini akan terbongkar. Tolong jangan hukum saya tanpa mengetahui apa yang berlaku (I believe the truth in this matter will be revealed. Please don’t vilify me without knowing what had happened),” declared Siti Aisya. She however denied that she was the person who uploaded the recording of the incident and that her irate behaviour in the recording was provoked. Meanwhile, Azman the Subang Skypark security guard has since been somewhat of a celebrity in his own right, getting visits from concerned Malaysians for photo ops that include Lembah Pantai MP, Nurul Izzah. He however described Siti Aisya’s public apology as insincere. “Saya tidak tahu dia ada mohon maaf. Dia tidak datang berjumpa atau telefon saya (I am not aware of her apology. She did not come see me or called me (to apologise),” said Azman in a report.

Pelakon Zain Saidin, 29, akhirnya merisik kekasihnya, aktres Rozita Che Wan, 40, dalam satu majlis tertutup yang berlangsung di Carcosa Seri Negara, Kuala Lumpur, pada Ahad.
 Pengurus peribadi Rozita iaitu Afiq berkata majlis berlangsung kira-kira pada pukul 3 petang dan disaksikan seramai 50 orang tetamu yang terdiri daripada keluarga kedua-dua belah pihak.
 "Majlis ini dijalankan secara tertutup dan hanya dihadiri oleh kedua-dua belah keluarga sahaja. Ia hanya majlis merisik, bukan pertunangan.
 "Ia majlis pihak lelaki mahu bertanya sama ada Rozita sudah ada yang punya atau belum,” katanya. Dalam laporan sama, Zain mengesahkan perkara tersebut tetapi enggan mengulas panjang selain agak terkejut bagaimana majlis tersebut berjaya dihidu pihak media.

Qi Razali Buat Rancangan Pertunangan Dengan Nelydia.

Walaupun sebelum ini Qi Razali ada memberitahu yang beliau sanggup untuk menunggu Nelydia Senrose untuk mencapai impiannya dalam dunia hiburan kerana usia yang masih muda namun ada perkembangan terbaru tentang hubungan mereka.
 Bercakap kepada akhbar Kosmo! baru-baru ini, Qi Razali mendedahkan yang beliau merancang untuk mengikat tali pertunangan dengan Nelydia pada tahun hadapan. Pengacara program Jalan Jalan Cari Makan yang berusia 36 tahun ini mengambil keputusan itu atas faktor tidak mahu menunggu sehingga usianya mencecah 40 tahun untuk melangkah ke fasa seterusnya dalam hubungan mereka.
 “Kalau boleh saya tidak mahu berkahwin ketika umur saya memasuki 40 tahun. Dalam tempoh setahun dua ini akan ada langkah seterusnya dalam hubungan kami,” jelas Qi Razali.  “Saya tidak boleh cakap sudah bersedia atau tidak. Saya serahkan pada keluarga sebabnya saya masih di bawah tanggungan keluarga. Segala kata putus daripada keluarga saya akan ikut,” ujar Nelydia Senrose mengulas hasrat Qi Razali.
