AN American couple have been accused of selling three of their daughters to a child pornography ring. Paperwork allegedly shows the girls aged 12, 15 and 17 were sold and forced to perform sexual acts against their will.
The allegations surfaced after Connie Sue McCall, 40, and her husband Ronnie Lee McCall, 61 were investigated for child neglect. A fourth daughter aged just five was taken into care after being found with "several if not all of her teeth rotted". One of the other girls had "both head and body lice, flea bites, ring worm and rotten teeth". Debbie Dunn of the Johnson City Police Department, said:
"The amount of tooth decay, you can imagine, was extremely painful. She had black teeth, and holes in all the teeth, just really inexcusable," reports WATE-TV. District Attorney Tony Clark described how after questioning the children about the neglect the true horror of their situation came to light. He said: "There was money that changed hands between the individuals that were taking pictures and the parents.
"The children said that they had been taken to various locations and performing sex acts with an adult. "When you have parents allegedly making money off their kids through pornography and exploitation, even after 20 years, it's one of the worst cases I've ever seen." The girls also claim their parents were regularly high on bath salts.
The man accused of having sex with the underage girls is reported to have committed suicide, reports the Johnson City Press.

SYRIAN snipers appear to be targeting pregnant women, a British surgeon says after returning from the conflict zone. David Nott, who spent five weeks volunteering at a Syrian hospital, told The Times newspaper the gunshot wounds he had treated also indicated that bored snipers were targeting particular parts of civilians' bodies in a bid to entertain themselves.
"One day it would be shots to the groin. The next, it would only be the left chest," he told the newspaper. "From the first patients that came in in the morning, you could almost tell what you would see for the rest of the day. It was a game." Nott, a prominent surgeon who counts former prime minister Tony Blair as an ex-patient, said he had treated more than half a dozen shot pregnant women on one day in the Syrian city, which he did not identify for security reasons.
On another day, two consecutive gunshot patients were heavily pregnant women, both of whom lost their babies. "The women were all shot through the uterus, so that must have been where they were aiming for," he told The Times. "I can't even begin to tell you how awful it was. Usually, civilians are caught in the crossfire. This is the first time I've ever seen anything like this. This was deliberate.
It was hell beyond hell." Nott, who usually works as a vascular surgeon at London's Westminster and Chelsea hospital, has been volunteering as an emergency surgeon in warzones for 20 years, including Bosnia, Libya and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

A helicopter works to extinguish bush fires burning near Winmalee, west of Sydney, on October 18.HUNDREDS of homes have been destroyed or damaged by dozens of major bush fires raging in eastern Australia, fire officials said.
And they fear that it could get much worse. At least 56 unrelenting blazes have scorched more than 109,000 hectares (269,000 acres), said Matt Sun, spokesman for the New South Wales Rural Fire Service. Twelve of the fires are out of control, officials said. "We're coming out of a very dry winter, we haven't had a lot of rain for many months," said Joel Kursawe, another fire service spokesman.
That's what obviously very concerning for us because we are still only in spring and we are seeing fires like this with so much destruction." Among those still facing severe threats are Springwood and Winmalee in the Blue Mountains region, about 80 kilometers (50 miles) west of Sydney. Alex Chesser, a spokesman for the Rural Fire Service, said there is the potential for three fires in that region to join, posing potential hazards to thousands of residents in nearby suburbs.
Volunteer firefighter Michael Green, who made a harrowing drive through the fire lines to his home in the mountain town of Dargan, said he and his wife could feel the intense heat through their windows. The fire had passed, but burned trees were still glowing red and the hot spots "were still quite severe," he said. "It was a bit risky, but I had to get home to see if the house was all right, and the dog," Green said.
They were. "It's just a lucky wind change," said Green, who shot video of his dash through the burned-out countryside on Thursday. "The winds were blowing right up, and at the last minute, they changed into a southerly, which took it away from the actual house." Dozens of firefighters were battling the Linksview Road fire in Springwood early Monday.
Conditions are predicted to deteriorate over the next few days, the state fire service said, and blazes might prompt road closures. Under such conditions, fires can be difficult to control, the service said. Embers may be blown ahead, creating spot fires. "We'll be watching the weather closely over the next three days," Chesser said. The Springwood fire destroyed at least 193 homes and damaged another 109, officials said. In the Mount Victoria fire, seven homes have been destroyed and one damaged.
Both fires were sparked by power lines that had been buffeted by strong winds. Causes of the other fires are unclear, preliminary investigations showed. Officials are looking into whether a blaze near Lithgow was caused by a military training exercise. Winmalee also felt the scorching impact. "The house survived; the shed didn't. This all is just a pile of sticks in the air with a roof on it," resident Joe Mercieca told CNN affiliate Seven Network, pointing to the devastated aftermath.
"At the end of the day, we hope we have buildings standing. But if we don't have buildings standing, we don't want bodies in them," cautioned New South Wales Police Assistant Commissioner Alan Clarke, who commands the major events and incidents group. A total fire ban is in place for the Greater Sydney region until further notice, officials said, meaning no fire may be lit in the open, and all fire permits are suspended. Alison Burke Griffiths, who lives in west suburban Sydney, sent a photo to CNN iReport that showed the late-afternoon sky aglow with a thick orange and gray smog.
"We're from New York originally and have only lived in Australia for two years, so no, we've yet to see something like this," Griffiths told iReport. Officials said heavy smoke across Sydney and much of the state is still likely. "These conditions that we are looking at are a whole new ballgame and in a league of their own," said the commissioner of rural fire services, Shane Fitzsimmons. "The predictive charts indicate that there will be a significant impact on populated areas should all these forecasts materialize."
The situation is so bad that New South Wales Premier Barry O'Farrell declared a state of emergency for the state, which includes Sydney. The declaration gives firefighters special authority as conditions worsen. "These powers include the right to order the public to leave or to enter an area, the right to shore up or demolish a building, and of course it also prevents people from disobeying an order given under these powers," O'Farrell said Sunday.
At least one death has been reported. A 63-year-old man died of a suspected heart attack Friday while defending his home against a blaze on the New South Wales Central Coast, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation reported. Walter Lindner collapsed while working alongside his neighbor to save his heritage-listed homestead, according to ABC. About 1,300 firefighters, including more than 120 from the neighboring state of Victoria, were tackling the blazes Sunday evening.
Firefighting forces from the Australian Capital Territory, a self-governing body surrounded by New South Wales, were also deployed to the Blue Mountains. Forecasters are calling for hot, dry and windy conditions over the next few days, Seven Network reported. CNN meteorologist Tom Sater said a front may slowly bring much-needed rain to some areas beginning Tuesday, but heavy winds might complicate firefighting efforts.

elak bayar duit sewa baju scha nama black dikaitkan pula

michael ang masuk hospital sebab kena sengat tebuan

A BULLY was forced to apologise to his victim after 100 Facebook users staged a rally outside his school. Halsey Parkerson, who had been taunted and verbally abused by the unnamed bully, has his aunt to thank after she arranged the meet-up at South Salem High School in Oregon.
She had gone to meet Halsey for lunch last Thursday when she witnessed another student telling him that he ‘didn’t have any friends and no one cares’. After taking to Facebook to rally support from her local car club, the word quickly spread, with impressive results. Around 100 people, in around 50 cars, turned up outside the school on Friday, with one person even making the journey from Vancouver in Canada – over 350 miles away.
With the crowd demanding an apology, the sheepish bully high-fived Halsey in acknowledgment and offered: ‘I apologise. I apologise and I take it back.’ The slightly-stunned Halsey told local news station KATU: ‘It’s just unbelievable. I now know whenever I get bullied I’ll raise my head up and say, “Sorry, I have too many friends to think I’m being bullied”’. With studies showing that approximately 30 per cent of all US students are bullied at high school, he admitted it was a big day for victims everywhere. ‘If you’re being bullied, stand up and express yourself,’ he said.
This is one glorious day.’ He later took to his own Facebook page to thank the support. ‘Thanks to everyone who was there with me and my family thanks also to the ones who could not make it by all you making a difference,’ he wrote. ‘I truly mean it I’m tearing up thanks guys for standing up with me and helping me make a difference!!’

Aboriginal dancers (C) perform a smoking ceremony on the steps of the Sydney Opera House as the world heritage-listed building celebrates its 40th birthday on October 20, 2013.

SYDNEY: The Sydney Opera House, world heritage-listed as "one of the indisputable masterpieces of human creativity", celebrated its 40th birthday Sunday with a flotilla of lifesavers, Aboriginal dancers and a gigantic cupcake.
Huge crowds packed the steps for a distinctively Australian performance on the glittering harbourfront, where three generations of Danish architect Jorn Utzon's family were the guests of honour. It was a postcard-perfect day beneath the same cloudless blue skies that inspired Utzon's winning design to build Sydney an opera house back in 1956 -- the white sails drawn from his childhood in the Aalborg shipyards. "A building like this happens once in a lifetime," Utzon's son Jan told revellers on Sunday.
"It is a unique Australian expression of will and enthusiasm and 'let's go do it' kind of spirit." A crew of surf lifesavers wearing their famous yellow-and-red caps and costumes arrived at the Opera House's Man O' War steps on one of Sydney's distinctive ferries, flanked by six of the association's dinghies and two tugboats. They were met and led up the red-carpeted steps by Aboriginal dancers where a traditional smoking ceremony was held to spiritually cleanse the site accompanied by an indigenous dance ritual and didgeridoo.
A giant cupcake topped with a model of the Opera House made from icing was carried onto the stage by the lifesavers, and Australian rocker Jimmy Barnes -- frontman of Cold Chisel -- led a rousing chorus of Happy Birthday accompanied by a navy brass band and school choir. An Airbus A340 made a low pass over the site to cap celebrations. The distinctive performance hall is one of Australia's best-known landmarks and centrepiece of Sydney's cultural scene, hosting some 2,000 shows every year and attracting 8.2 million visitors.
"As the most internationally recognisable symbol of both Sydney and Australia, it has become our calling card to the world," said Governor of New South Wales, Marie Bashir. Opera House chief Louise Herron said the huge crowds were a reminder "that the Opera House is, above all, the people's palace." Utzon won an international design contest to build the harbour city an opera house in 1956 that attracted 233 entries from 28 countries, despite being relatively unknown in the architecture world.
His ambitious blueprint, drafted from photos and maps without ever having visited the harbour site, took 14 years and Aus$102 million to complete, funded by a state lottery. It was one of the most difficult engineering feats ever attempted at the time, with Utzon envisaging a chamber with vaulted roofs unsupported by pillars or columns. Custom-built French cranes were used to piece together the iconic sails segment by segment in mid-air, with pre-cast concrete ribs interlocking in an intricate jigsaw. Some 1,056,006 individual tiles coat the exterior, custom-made from clay and stone.
Utzon was inspired by Japanese ceramic bowls, imagining their pale matte finish would perfectly offset the blue of Sydney's harbour and sky. Protesters have scaled the building's shell to unfurl banners about climate change and other causes, with one group painting "No War" in five-metre red letters on its uppermost sail in a 2003 demonstration against the US invasion of Iraq. The Opera House was listed a world heritage site by UNESCO in 2007, the year before Utzon died.

Welcome to the world's worst airport

MANILA – The Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (NAIA-1) was again rated by a travel site as the world's worst airport for 2013.
Visitors of travel site "The Guide to Sleeping in Airports" selected the congested NAIA-1 facility located within the Philippines' main gateway as the worst in the world and in Asia. The site released the latest rankings on Tuesday, October 15. NAIA 1 was also No. 1 in the list in 2011. It ranked 5th-worst in 2010.

The rankings were based on the following factors:

.Comfort: Metallic seating and armrests, crowded terminals and limited seats, delays or layovers.  .Conveniences: Bad signage in terminals, difficult transfers, lack of 24-hour food, and nothing to do in transit.  .Cleanliness: dirty floors, bathrooms and food courts.
.Customer Service: unfriendly staff, airport scams, anti-airport sleeper policies, immigration officers who prefer to play Angry Birds than process travellers

Nothing new
Malacañang said these concerns are already being addressed. "This [issue] is not something new," said presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda in a press briefing on Thursday, October 17.
Lacierda reiterated the government is redesigning and restructuring the airport facility, which has been bursting at the seams for over a decade now. Efforts to upgrade NAIA-1 commenced two years ago as a response to criticisms raised by travelers who voted in polls conducted by The Guide to Sleeping in Airports as well as other sites.
These efforts were delayed however as the agency in charge of airports – the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) – underwent a change in leadership. There were also delays in the process of choosing the designers, engineers and architects for the planned upgrade.
DOTC secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, who replaced Mar Roxas at the agency, earlier announced that internationally renowned designers Kenneth Cobonpue and Budji Layug and architect Royal Pineda are among those involved in efforts to beautify NAIA-1, which accommodates over 56% of passengers arriving in the country and departing for abroad.

Interim plans, final strategy
An over 3-decade-old structure, NAIA-1 is one of 4 terminals in the Manila airport, which was named after the father of President Benigno Aquino III. NAIA-1 hosts all the international flights of foreign airlines, which have long been complaining about lack of space, rickety facilities, and other problems of an old and congested terminal.
The government had planned on transferring these airlines to the sprawling NAIA Terminal 3 (NAIA-3), which was envisioned to be a modern and high-tech aviation facility when it was being built. NAIA-3 was supposed to have been opened in 2002, but it was mothballed for years due to legal, structural and financial issues.
The Arroyo administration cancelled the contract it signed with the private consortium that built the terminal due to irregularities. Separate arbitration cases filed by Filipino firm Philippine International Air Terminals Company andGerman airport operator Fraport against the Philippine government in Singapore and Washington courts took years and cost billions of dollars.
In the meantime, only half of NAIA-3 was found structurally safe when it opened for commercial operations in 2008. Foreign airlines could not transfer their operations to the terminal since the required security checks and automatic baggage handling needs of passengers were yet to be addressed.  While government was trying to resolve NAIA-3 issues, it also eyed to transfer all or some of NAIA's international operations to the Clark International Airport, which has more space.
The former US aviation facility in Pampanga is about 100 kilometers away from NAIA. Plans for Clark also faced challenges. Accessibility became an issue when Northrail, a train project that was supposed to link Manila and Clark, was suspended because of anomalies. The Aquino government has yet to decide on the country's airport strategy to address passenger complaints.

NOT only is songwriter Toby Sheldon a 33-year-old Justin Bieber fan, his Bieber-devotion would blow teeny-bopping Beliebers out of the water.
That's because Sheldon went so far as to spend almost $100,000 on five years worth of plastic surgery to make him look like his idol, according to the British tabloidCloser. Huffington PostOn top of Botox injections and hair transplants, Sheldon had costly "smile surgery" done to make his smile look just like Bieber's, according to multiple reports.
"It's Justin's smile that gives him his youthful look. So I had my upper lip lifted [and] my bottom lip plumped out," the musician told Closer.
