KUALA LUMPUR: Train and bus services in the capital will be extended for Merdeka Day celebrations. On Merdeka eve, Aug 30, the KL Monorail, LRT Ampang Line, LRT Kelana Jaya Line services will be extended to 2am, RapidKL Bus and KLIA Transit services until 2.30am and KTM Komuter services until 4.30am. The Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) in a statement here Wednesday said the extension would involve the KL Monorail service to KL Sentral, Hang Tuah, Imbi, Bukit Bintang and Titiwangsa, Ampang LRT Line to Hang Tuah and Masjid Jamek and Kelana Jaya LRT Line to Masjid Jamek, KLCC dan Ampang Park. For the RapidKL bus service, it involves 43 routes while KLIA Transit involves only one route, namely KL Sentral-KLIA while KTM Komuter, two routes, Batu Caves-Port Klang and Sg Gadut-Rawang. According to the statement, the frequency of the KL Monorail, LRT Ampang Line and LRT Kelana Jaya lines would be every eight to 15 minutes, RapidKL Bus and KLIA Transit every 30 minutes and KTM Komuter 30 minutes to one hour.
