KUALA LUMPUR: Two men have been charged in a Sessions Court with robbing an Air Asia X employee who died after she was ran over by Good Samaritans who tried to help her in Ampang in August.
Mohamad Faiz Amirol Mohamad, 22, and Azizee Ishak, 25, were accused of robbing Shahrinawati Abu Bakar, 30, opposite Palm Villa City Garden in Taman Nirwana at 2.45am on Aug 29.
They faced a maximum of 20 years in jail and whipping. They claimed trial. Sessions judge Manira Mohd Nor fixed bail at RM10,000 with one surety each.
It was reported that Shahrinawati had parked her car and was walking towards the entrance of her condominium in Taman Cempaka, Ampang Jaya, after working the night shift when two men on a motorcycle pounced on her.
Two other men, who were driving by, attempted to help Shahrinawati during the incident but instead caused her death when they rammed their car into her and the robbers.
The suspects got up and escaped on their Yamaha LC machine while the two men immediately rushed the victim to the hospital. Shahrinawati was pronounced dead at around 3am.
