29 Boats Seized In Klang Gate Dam.

KUALA LUMPUR: Lembaga Urus Air Selangor (LUAS) seized 29 boats in an integrated operation at Klang Gates Dam, near here on Sunday. Its assistant information officer Mohd Noh Mohd Yusof said the boats were seized under Section 150 (3) of the LUAS Enactment 1994.
 "The boats were used by four anglers to encroach the dam which was gazetted as a protected area in Selangor in 2010. We also issued warning to the anglers, in the 20s, who were caught angling." Mohd Noh said LUAS launched the operation fearing spillage of fuel and toxic waste in the dam area.
 "Since the dam is the source of raw water for Klang Valley residents, acitivites like angling, trawling, camping, tree felling and rafting are prohibited." The operation included 57 officers from LUAS, the Selangor Forestry Department, Department of Civil Defence (JPAM) and the police (PDRM).
